1. ASK

• Update your Facebook Page status with relevant and interesting questions that would be of interest to your community.
  

• This leads your community to comment and engage with you and other members in the space.

• The longer your comment  string on your update the better.

• In your status update request people to share their company URL in the comment link under your status update. This will cause some high volume of comment posts to occur which is awesome for your Facebook page growth. People are glad to do this because you are offering free advertising to your whole Facebook Page community!

• Get creative with this and think about what your community would love to share with others. Maybe have people share their all time favorite motivational movie or their favorite inspirational book.

3. SUGGEST TO FRIENDS

• Under your Facebook Page Image click ‘Suggest to Friends’. Since these people already know you they will be more likely to ‘Like’ your page. In addition to that person being a new community member to your page, their friends will also see that they have ‘Liked’ your page and may be interested in becoming a member of your Facebook Page community as well.
  

• Repeat this process every month or so to share to your page with your new friends.

How will these three ways cause an explosion to my Facebook Page?

• It will show on every single persons personal Facebook wall saying that they posted on your Facebook Page. This includes a direct link to your page (this is one way that new people will find your page)

• It will also show in their friends Home feed (Most Recent) that they have ‘Liked’ your page. This will have a direct link to your Fan Page.

• It will also show on the side column ‘Recommended Pages’ on peoples Facebook Home feeds when new people ‘Like’ your page. This will cause a snowball effect of people visiting and ‘Liking’ your page.

• As someone comments on the status update under where anyone above commented, that person will get a notification that their was a new post. This increases visits, interest and engagement to your page.

Did you see someone with their siblings & parents listed in their Facebook information box?

Are you wondering how and where to go to add your family connections on your own Facebook profile?

This article runs through exactly how to do it in addition to providing pictures to help guide you.

Here are the steps on how you can do just that!

Once your siblings and parents approve you your profile will then list them as a link in blue on your information profile like is shown below.

1. Go to your Facebook profile page

2. Click on the Info tab on the top

3. Click the ‘edit’ link in blue across from ‘About Me’

4. In the upper left corner select ‘Relationships’

5. Type in the family members name you would like to link too and select it from the drop down. Their picture will then be shown in the box.

1. Go to www.involver.com
2. Sign up to add 2 of the free applications they offer
3. Click on the facebook link next to the application
4. Select which fan page you would like to add the application
5. Go to the + at the end of the tabs and click on the application name you added
6. Then click the arrows if you application isn’t showing in one of your tabs
7. Drag the application to add the the tab selections

Steps to take when creating your Facebook Fan Page:

1. Type in ‘pages’ in the Facebook search bar

2. Click ‘Facebook Pages’

3. Select if your page is going to be either:

• Local- (Brick and mortar businesses)
• Brand, Product, or Organization (Example would be Adidas, Nike, Google, Ben & Jerry’s…)
• Artist, Band, or Public Figure (Big Shots, Super Stars…)

4. ‘Click Create Page’- Your page is now live

5. Follow instructions and fill out the basic information to complete your fan page.

6. There are plenty of Facebook Page applications you can add to make it more interactive for visitors. I will be making a video about how and which one’s to add on your page soon.

Create you fan page custom URL:

I decided to add how to do this as well because I have gotten a lot of questions on this particularly. First off you must have 25 fans first before you can get the custom url name. When you do go to this url http://facebook.com/username and you can create your custom fan page url from clicking on set a user name for your fan page.

I’m excited to notify you of a new Facebook Application called Vpype Live Broadcaster. With this application you can broadcast live video within your Personal Facebook Page or Facebook Fan Pages. After seeing this application being used it I can tell you this is going to be a HUGE deal. I recommend you get on it and implemented. The extreme ease of use and the power this application can have on relationship building within your Facebook community is amazing. This is an incredible application and it’s FREE!

Currently Vpype lets you have up to 300 people at a time viewing your show (you can also allow only a certain amount of people, everyone,my friends, friends of friends,only me . You can also have your live videos recorded so all the shows are archived into your “Shows” tab for people to view at their own leisure.

Another option is to set the date you are going to do your live broadcast. This is a great feature in order to notify people of the live show ahead of time so they can plan for it. You can also follow/unfollow broadcasts. If you follow a broadcast you will be notified when their show is going live. Once you start a show it gives you the option to automatically announce it for you through your Twitter and Facebook accounts.

How to add the Vpype application on Facebook:

1. Type in vpype in the facebook search

2. Select and add the application.

3. Go to your personal profile and click the + all the way to the right of your tabs. Click “Shows”

4. This will insert the “Shows” tab on your personal profile (which is where people can view your live shows).

5. You will then want to drag and move “Shows” from the drop down arrow to your tab bar so it shows (This may move one of your other tabs)

6. If you would like to add the application on your fan pages you will go back to the application page (http://apps.facebook.com/vpypebroadcaster) and click “Add to my page” then select what pages you would like to add it too.

7. Repeat steps 3 & 4

How to use the Vpype application on facebook:

1. Go to your “Shows” tab on your profile or fan page

2. Click on “create your own shows” in the upper right

3. It will then take you through configuring your hardware (video camera and microphone voice options)

4. Fill out your show information: Show Name, Keywords, Duration, etc. click start broadcast

5. You are LIVE!

Part 1: Networking using Facebook

I still meet people who don’t understand why social media is important. They feel it is a huge waste of time and that the only real way to build these connections is through in person meetings and networking/social events. Though in-person meetings are a great way to network and should be the next step after connecting through social media sites, you are limiting yourself to your restricted area. The networking/social websites available to us takes this networking opportunity worldwide. We have the ‘world at our fingertips’ per say.

If you think going to social events and meeting people in person is the only way you can build your personal/business network, you are kidding yourself.  If you haven’t noticed already, people are meeting others online more than ever before.  For part one of this series I will focus on Facebook and why it is important for building your very important forever-expanding social network and brand.

Facebook

Why Facebook? Because you can reach out to anyone in the world and build a great relationship without even seeing each other in person.  This may sound crazy to you but this happens every day.  You never know what can come from these relationships.

I’ve met tons of interesting people through Facebook that later led to meeting in person or at a minimum talking on the phone to discuss either business opportunities or common interests.  Trust me, you will make more key connections through social networking websites than you ever thought possible.  Your network is your treasure. Protect it and don’t take it for granted, because like I said earlier, you never know what could come from it.

Ways to connect with people you never met:

1. Find people in your interest by clicking the words in your Facebook profile. This will bring up people that have the same key word in their profile.

2. Send a direct message (If they have that option available without being their friend) to the person you are interested in finding out more about. Say something like, “I noticed you have your own photography business. I have my own photography business as well and thought we may be able to collaborate on some things together. I hope we can connect soon.”

3. Most people are looking to connect with other similar interest people through social sites like Facebook just as much as you, so don’t be afraid to message and friend people that you want to connect with.

4. You will notice that Facebook will suggest people to you on the right side column. This is a great way to find people to connect with as well that could later turn into more than just a facebook “friend”. It searches people out that have the same friend connections that you have.

5. Fan Pages that you are a fan of are also awesome places to search for people you may want to connect with. When on the specific fan page, go to the fans box on the left column and click “see all”.

Because you can post pictures, videos, work experience, interests, status updates, and instant chat you can get to know people extremely well over the Internet.  This can sound scary I know…but we are well on our way to this new way of communicating and meeting people. It is now easier than ever before and gets me pumped every time I think of the endless opportunities and connections that can be made through Facebook.

So I hope you realize the importance of Facebook and it’s power in growing your networking circle.  Grow your network, keep expanding your net and excellent opportunities will continually start to show up.
